Movie Under the Stars:
For four nights in Summer 2016, the Utah State Capitol hosted movie nights for the public on the Capitol lawn. Each event included live music, food vendors, and a movie screening. On average about 3,000 people attended each event. My responsibilities included promoting the events through multiple social media channels, organizing the music performances and food vendors and running operations before, during and after the events.
In October of 2016, The Utah State Capitol celebrated the 100th anniversary of the opening of the Capitol Building. To commemorate the occasion, the Capitol Preservation Board hosted a week-long celebration which included tours, musical performances, the opening of a hundred-year-old time capsule, a children's activity day and a concluding gala event. Over the course of the week, approximately 20.000 people attended events at the Capitol building, including 18,000 school children. My responsibilities included creating promotional content for the events, writing and distributing press releases and press kits, contacting and organizing performance groups and school tours, coordinating the volunteer schedule and managing operations at events throughout the week.
BYU Sporting Events
While as a student at Brigham Young University, I volunteered as a student leader on the BYU ROC Board, a group which organizes and runs game day operations at Brigham Young University sporting events. My responsibility was organizing clear communications between the ROC board, event staff, and campus police to ensure that each group was pleased with the game day experience.
